From her studio in Ottawa, Ontario, artist Greta Grip enjoys pulling the strings of what is traditional knitting and winding it around the digital age. From her tongue-in-cheek pseudonym to her cheeky knitted slogans, Greta Grip’s art challenges our expectations of what knitting is and what knitting can do by bringing it out of the world of craft and into the world of fine art. Her most recent works are a series of texts offering a playful response to both the art world and the world at large.
