Drawings by Sue Adams at Sivarulrasa Gallery
“Spotlight” features our curator’s selection of a grouping of works by one artist. This month we are pleased to feature exquisite drawings by artist Sue Adams. Working primarily with the human form, Sue Adams’ work explores themes of passion, pain, frailty and grace. Her figures exhibit strength, vulnerability and primal energy, giving voice to humanity’s inherent contradictions.
“Drawing has always been fundamental to my voice as an artist”, she states. “Often before a sculpture is fully conceived, I will embark on a number of sketches – not fully comprehending what they are or where they are leading. Some will become the basis of that sculpture, while others may develop into more complex, fully formed studies in their own right.”
