Spotlight

Spotlight features our curator’s selection of a group of works by one artist. In our latest Spotlight, we are pleased to feature 8 works by artist Louis Thériault. Born in New Brunswick, and now based in Gatineau, Quebec, Louis Thériault refers to his recent paintings as “scenes of apparent spontaneity”. Working with thin coats of acrylic, his subjects are drawn from childhood memories, historical contexts, or current events. With a Cartesian spirit, his compositions exploit perspective and geometry. “I use art to mark time, to freeze scenes or to express ideas,” he says.
